About Me:

My name’s Arlene and I’m from the beautiful Co. Donegal. When I’m not working in the lab, I enjoy swimming, eating out and spending time with my friends.

My Work:

I’m a PhD researcher in chemistry and I research efficient methods for making parts of drugs.
My Typical Day:

I usually aim to be in the lab for 9 am, where I do all my experiments. Normally I’ll put on reactions in the morning, have lunch around 1 and purify the reactions after lunch. If the chemistry is cooperating, I try to go home around 6 pm!
What I'd do with the prize money:

If I won the prize money, I’d like to visit schools to do lots of experiments and show students how fun science is!
